John and Ansley

Just a day shy of 37 weeks!

Hey Everyone! After many moons of prodding by Ansley, we’ve changed around the site’s theme, and generally updated it to look nicer and have more functionality than before. It’s still a bit of a work in progress, and things may change slightly, but the basic look is set. This main purpose of this post is to make sure the link between our blog and twitter has been corrected, so we’ll see!

More to come, from both of us, hopefully.

Our blog is so neglected! So much so that it just occurred to me that there has been no mention of my pregnancy and I’m almost at the finish line. So guess what, blog world? I’m pregnant! 34 weeks and 5 days, to be exact.

We’ll soon be welcoming our second son, Perry Hayes Cox, into this world. The due date is August 23rd. Perry is named after his great-grandfather, John’s maternal grandfather and one of our most favorite people on earth.

We were NOT expecting to get pregnant again, although we wanted it so badly. The conception/beginning of pregnancy story is funny but not entirely appropriate for sharing here. It was not the best news at the time to find out I was pregnant, and I could write a really long and mostly negative description of how the experience has been. As beautiful, fantastic and amazing as my pregnancy with Charlie was, (picture kittens and rainbows), this one has been the complete opposite. ROUGH. The first 28 weeks were pure hell. Someone should have taken advantage of using me for a birth control class.

While it’s still not kittens and rainbows, things have vastly improved in the third trimester. I’m so glad that I’m getting to enjoy some of this experience!

This will probably be the only post about being pregnant. I’d write more and more often but my brain is totally fried. Mommy Brain is exponential! Hopefully John and I will both be more active with our blog, although the only guarantee I can make is that there will be a birth announcement in a few weeks.
