Dance It Out

I’ve had a miserable day until a few minutes ago. Charlie and I were having an epic battle a difference of opinions, when all of a sudden one of our favorite songs came on. We both immediately stopped pitching a fit disagreeing and ran into the living room to dance together. Now we’re happy and laughing and watching Blues Clues.

Have you heard of the book _Playful Parenting_? It seems like you do it kind of naturally, so you probably don’t need to read the book, but it really helped me to use fun and joking to get more cooperation. You and Charlie could totally be an example in that book of how to use play to reconnect and move past a confrontation. Rock on!

I must read that book! Yes, I definitely bring out the playful side as much as possible. My dad did it too, and I used to get SO MAD when he’d make me start laughing so that I couldn’t be upset anymore. But it worked every time.
