Charlie and I spent a few days in LaGrange this week. I was *hoping* to have a little “me” time while Charlie played with his grandparents, and boy, did I get it! I got food poisoning and spent most of our trip in bed. I guess I should have specified that I wanted my alone time to be getting a pedicure and NOT being sick.
My friend Mary made a very good point about getting food poisoning that makes a lot of sense. She feels that with the bad economy, restaurants may be stretching the life of their food instead of always having fresh ingredients. Even with restaurant inspections, there could be ways of avoiding it being noticed. Definitely something to think about when dining out. I’m glad that we don’t eat out very often.
I was so disappointed that we didn’t get to see Mary and Will because I got sick. But Charlie did get to see his best friend, Bo, and meet a new friend, Holden. Holden’s dad has been re-landscaping my parents’ neighbor’s yard, and Holden came over a couple of evenings and showed Charlie his dad’s cool tractors. They had a great time together! Bo and Charlie had a fun afternoon of swimming.
I’ve been thinking about the next parenting post and will get to it as soon as we get settled back into our schedule. There are some amazing posts done by a couple of friends that I want to share.
